Frequently asked questions
1. How much does a tattoo cost?
Prices vary based on size, detail, placement, and the artist’s hourly rate. We provide quotes after a consultation or when you send a clear reference.
2. Do you take walk-ins or is it appointment only?
We accept both! Walk-in availability depends on the day and artist availability. Appointments are recommended for larger or custom pieces.
3. How do I book an appointment?
You can book via our website, Instagram DMs, or by calling/texting the shop directly. A deposit is usually required to secure your spot.
4. What should I do to prepare for my tattoo?
Stay hydrated, eat a solid meal beforehand, avoid alcohol or blood thinners, and wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being tattooed. If you like to read and it isn’t inconveniencing the artist, bring books or headphones to listen to music, podcasts or whatever youd like.
5. Is there anything I should bring?
Bring a valid ID (you must be 18+), reference images if you have them, and cash if preferred by your artist. Snacks and hydration are also recommended especially for longer tattoo session.
6. Does getting a tattoo hurt?
Yes—but pain tolerance varies by person and placement. We aim to make your session as comfortable as possible but please understand that the pain is part of the proccess and is only temporary. Pick the place you want based on what you want and not what you’re afraid of.
7. Can I bring a friend?
Most studios allow one guest, but it’s best to check ahead—especially during busy hours. Space if very limited and its honestly very boring for your friend so if you can manage coming alone then that is recommended. Just make sure your guest follows shop rules, is kind, courteous and considerate of other patrons and artists.
8. Whats the parking situations down there?
Like most downtown areas parking can get pretty competitive. We are on a less busy side of the district so it helps but we are not immune to those problems. There is street side parking infront for the entrance at $2 an hour. Across the street on street parking is $1 an hour. And the parking lot across the street is usually $14 for the day and 20 bucks during events.
Artist & Design FAQs
9. Can I bring my own design?
Absolutely. We can tattoo your design as-is (within reason or the artists discretion) or help refine it to work better as a tattoo.
9. Can you recreate a tattoo exactly like a photo I found?
We can use it as inspiration, but we prefer to create custom work to avoid copying another artist’s work exactly.
10. How do you price custom designs?
Based on size, detail, placement, and time. We’ll give you a ballpark or hourly rate once we discuss your idea.
11. Do you offer flash tattoos?
Yes! Our artists often have flash sheets available. These are pre-drawn designs at set prices and can be made available on request or by coming into the shop and seeing for yourself.
Healing & Aftercare FAQs
12. How do I take care of my tattoo afterward?
We’ll provide you with full aftercare instructions. It typically involves keeping the area clean, moisturized, and avoiding sun, soaking, or scratching.
13. What if my tattoo scabs or peels?
This is normal! Don’t pick at it. Follow your aftercare instructions, and it will settle into the skin beautifully.
14. Can I work out or go swimming after getting a tattoo?
Avoid swimming and heavy sweating for at least 2 weeks while your tattoo heals.
15. What if I need a touch-up?
Many artists offer free or low-cost touch-ups within a specific time window—just ask during your session as it varies artist to artist but we do stand by our work and will make any corrections on the house. Make sure to specify with your artist what qualifies as a touch-up and what their polices are.
